The Arab Water Council (AWC)

The Arab Water Council (AWC) was launched on 14 April 2004, as a regional non-profit organization with activities extended on both regional and international scales.
Since the Arab region is facing the most critical water-related challenges, the water stakeholders in the region found it imperative to establish an Arab Water Council (AWC), the primary tasks of which are to tackle these water challenges, and to develop means and mechanisms to deal with them effectively and efficiently for achieving sustainable development of the inhabitants in the Arab region. The Council is intended to be a platform for developing water management strategies, adopting water ethics doctrines, promoting regional cooperation, and mobilizing societies to face challenges in an effective way.
